Road to Whitstable closed at night

If you're driving to or from Whitstable at night in February, you'll need to avoid the usual route.

The A290 Canterbury-Whitstable road over The Blean will be shut at the Whitstable end from now on for three weeks between 8pm and 5am, while the KCC Highways Service resurfaces the road.

Notices have been posted advising drivers to use the A2 and Thanet Way instead.

Different sections of the A290 between Tyler Hill and the Long Reach roundabout will be closed at various times as the

roadworks progress, so if you are visiting homes or businesses on the

route you should look out for detailed notices which will be posted

along the road.
