You can't go wrong with Pizza Express - especially if you have the kids in tow. Staff always cheerful, love the pizzas and they've had one or two good offers recently so it's not cost an arm and a leg either.

Enjoy a 'pizza' the action at the best Pizza Express in the whole of the Canterbury, Whitstable and Faversham gourmet triangle. The food is identical to all the other Pizza Expresss but if you're lucky you get to see the river flowing past. Take a 'punt' on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReportReally like that you can see the river from the restaurant and the standard is good - as always at this chain. I would recommend Posillipo fo a more tradtional Italian experience in the city, but this place definitely wins on location.
Yes, it's a chain; but Canterbury's Pizza Express beats all the rest in the city thanks to its great location. The restaurant backs on to the Stour and has big windows, perfect for gawping at any activity on the river – or just watching the water flow by. The youthful staff are polite and eager to please and the food is, of course, up to Pizza Express's usual high standards: no scope for the cooks to exercise creativity, but you know what you're getting. The firm frequently has two-for-one deals and other offers via the net: worth looking out for.

As with a lot of chain restaurants in Canterbury, this Pizza Express is nicer than any other. Same great food; same delicious (and rather moreish in a way that alcohol shouldnt be) Pinot Grigio; different, wonderful, lovely setting. The windows at the back of the restaurant look out on to the river. Exposed brick and beams bring you closer to the history of the place. Quite often, there are also some great vouchers and deals about the internet for pizza express. And it's 10% off with your Residents Card until end Aug 2010!
