About Azouma.
A calming and beautiful Moroccan oasis set in Canterbury, Azouma invites you on an exciting and evocative journey into the ...
Came here with my family today for the first time and we really enjoyed the food! I will definitely come back again and bring my friends.
The buffet was great as we were new to this type of food so it was good to try new things. The prices were also very good.

The is one of Canterbury's real gems.
Moroccan food is one of the best in the world and if you have never tried it you can have a taste of everything here.
You can eat as much as you want at the £6.95 buffet between 12 and 3 every day and children are half price.
That’s starters, mains and deserts, it is wonderful.
The food is as authentic as you will ever find outside of the Maghreb.
I lived there for three years and ate in homes and restaurants in towns and cities all over Morocco to remote villages in the Atlas Mountains and I can vouch for it.
The lovely owners are from Kenitra near Rabat and they are as passionate about their food as they are about their customers.
I was there today when the owners arrived on their day off and checked all the dinners and kitchens before helping themselves to dinner for themselves and their children.
What better recommendation is that?
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming day or night, with true attention to Moroccan décor and ambience. It is a relaxed place, so do ask if you need anything, it is a help yourself buffet and ask for bread if you want some to soak up the yummy sauces.
Head south from Canterbury's hub in the Butter Market, walk 3 mins down The High Street and it is just over the main road. If you are staying in the Travelodge, the ex Chaucer Hotel in Ivy Lane (A fine old large Georgian House) its turn right out of the door 200 yards along the main road in Church Street. Excellent evening dinning on your doorstep, there was even a menu in reception.
I can’t wait to go back but I am a 2 hour drive away, perhaps I will have to move there.
Enjoy

Over the past week myself and friends ate in the restaurant on several occasions it was that great we just couldn't go else where. The service was the very best. The surrounding picturesqueness value for money was unbelievable. I was in awe for the whole evening as I entered I felt like royalty. The management went wholly out of there way for us. We sat up stairs on many evening's which was a lovely atmosphere. On our last evening the group and I decided to sit downstairs this was epic cosy lively and the perfect Moroccan experience. The buffet during the day 6.95POUNDS OMG the very best I eat out very often and I cannot express how fabulous this array of choice was presented. I mean the best day buffet I have ever experienced!! I recommend 100% ideal for dates families large groups this restaurant is solely a whole rounder :) Fair play management you are running a mighty business :) Thank you again for making our stay in Canterbury amazing we will be back !!

Visited Azouma recently (July 2011) with a friend, and we found it delightful: staff very friendly and helpful, laid-back but also attentive, food delicious and well-cooked, and house red very drinkable.
Lunch-time buffet about £7.95 per person (excl drinks), I think - my friend paid! - for as much as you can eat. The hot dishes were all attractively served from classic Moroccan ceramic tagines, and there was a great range of dishes - lamb, chicken, vegetables, rice, chick-peas, cous-cous etc. There was also a great variety of hot and cold starters - all pretty authentic. Not much in the way of desserts, if that's your thing, but to be honest, you don't need them.
With atmospheric North African décor, too, we thought it was unbeatable! Thanks Azouma, will be visiting again soon.

My son and his fellow students choose Azoumas as their graduation meal for friends and family over 30 went Bit unsure of what Moroccan food was like etc but we found it to be very clean, beautifully decorated , the staff were all so friendly and helpful nothing too much trouble, the food was really nice and had a good selection ,was hot and plentiful. We will be definitely returning and would recommended it as it was a really brilliant . Thanks for making their graduation in Canterbury so pleasurable .

Went here for my birthday meal OK, we WERE going to go out in Whitstable but got the phone numbers confused!
We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic decor, furnishings and cooking (we toured Morocco a couple of years ago so knew what to expect).
The food was excellent and tasty, though the 'full Azouma' was too much for us - one meal between us would have sufficed!
Traditional mint tea to finish was excellent and a real reminder of Morocco i.e. nothing like the teabag stuff.
