Slide Shows new album out now!

Local band Slide Shows have been

gigging in Canterbury venues ever since frontman Steve Maunder came

to study at the University of Kent at Canterbury in 2007. Reminiscent

of REM and Manic Street Preachers, Slide Shows are bringing

melancholy pop into the noughties with some upbeat guitar ri***

overlaid with some Unkle-esque vocals.

'Calling all Fledglings' is an anthem

for the lives and lessons of disaffected youth. Titles such as

'Swinging Missing' and 'Music in Coffee Shops' leave an impression of

a young man trying to make his mark on the world, featuring the

lyrics, 'I'm being offered another loan to make this box a real

home.' A definite highlight is 'Away', a surprisingly happy little

tune about bitter nostalgia and the post-break-up blues.
