The Deal with Orange Street Music Club

Orange Street Music Club has reopened under new ownership as The Ballroom!
It was very sad time for all of us when, at the end of October 2010, Orange Street Music Club closed. The Club had delighted Canterbury’s music fans for five years, playing host to some great local bands and a few big names such as Mumford and Sons and Ellie Golding.
Fortunately for us, the club has re-opened and the new owner is trying to keep the spirit of Orange Street Music Club alive. It will remain, at least in part, a live music venue.
Newly refurbished, the club is now called ‘The Ballroom’ and is owned by Simon Ness (formerly restaurant manager at Café des Amis in Canterbury).
The launch party was held on the weekend of Saturday 17th December 2010 with a DJ, and the live music launch is scheduled for tonight (Monday 20th December). Unfortunately, Mr. Lovebucket, who were due to perform, have had to cancel due to the adverse weather conditions.
Live Music will be back in the New Year, although I can’t find an events calendar just yet. The Ballroom’s Facebook page contains some information but it would appear that their website isn’t quite up-and-running just yet.
Any more information anyone?

Hi Emma, there's now an acoustic act on tonight. I should be going along to have a look at the Ballroom tomorrow - I'll have more information then. : )
