With the newly released Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and the imminent UK debut of Despicable Me, it might be a surprise to see some old favourites being brought to the big screen here in Canterbury. In fact, there’s a whole range of films being shown in Canterbury this week, from Oscar winners to retro flicks.

Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction will be showing at the Canterbury Odeon on the 16th and 17th October 2010 at 22.45
The Odeon in St Georges Place will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Back to the Future with screenings from Monday 11th – Thursday 14th October 2010 at 15.30. Featuring Michael J Fox at his best, this much-loved classic tells the story of a teenage boy, a mad scientist and a time machine. On Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October, you can also catch Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction at Canterbury’s Odeon. New releases include Despicable Me and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to Oliver Stone’s Wall Street, in which Gordon Gekko returns to pre-empt the recent financial crisis (personally, I’m thinking mediocre). The much-anticipated Despicable Me is a witty family-friendly animation.
The Gulbenkian Cinema on the UKC campus will be showing Oscar-winning Argentinean film The Secret in their Eyes. It’s a thriller about a retired federal justice agent who finds himself resurrecting the disturbing past by researching a novel based on one of his cases. Also on is The Runaways, a coming-of-age film about the 70s rock band.
