Four of us went to the Marlowe last night to see the production of Alan Bennett's play The Madness of George III.
We all thought the auditorium impressive (even though we had seats in the back row, we could see and hear well) - and this performance was as good as any on the West End stage. Why drive or train up to London?
David Haig (Four Weddings and a Funeral, The Thin Blue Line) must have been exhausted after his amazing physical acting in the title role when he was on stage for most of the evening. Seriously good stuff.
