A family is distraught after their pet dogs were stolen last week.

The owner of two valuable Springer Spaniels that were stolen from his garden has appealed for help in finding them.

61-year-old Dennis Berwick went to tend to his three dogs only to discover that two of them had been stolen.

The dogs had been kept in a secure pen on his front garden in Sturry Hill, Sturry. The theft occurred on Wednesday, 4 August between 10.30am and 2.30pm.

The Springer Spaniels were both black and white in colour. One was an 8-year-old ***** named Tess, the other a 6-year-old named Riv. There were both thought to be worth around £3000.

Mr Berwick explained that the theft of Tess and Riv has upset the whole of his family: ‘We all miss the dogs; they were our pets. The grandchildren are particularly upset and we are keen to get them back. For someone to come into your property and take your pet is a disgrace, if anyone has any information about the theft, please contact the police.’

Can you help?

A terrible thing for the family. I hope they find the dogs soon and that the dogs are well.
