Police appeal for help after teenager attacked near Canterbury's Kingsmead Centre

Kenty Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager reported he was assaulted on Kingsmead Road in Canterbury last Saturday, December 10th 2011.

The 17-year-old boy was walking along the riverside close to the Kingsmead Sports centre at around 3.50pm when he saw two men coming towards him as he approached the play area.

One man passed him before the second drew level with him and punched him in the face, he then felt more punches from behind from the man who had already passed by.

The victim reported that he tried to punch and kick both men in an attempt to defend himself.

 

When a passerby intervened to try and the victim the two men swore at him and ran off in the direction of Canterbury City Centre.

The victim sustained minor injuries and did not need medical treatment.

The first man is described as white, 17-18-years-old, medium build and approximately 5ft10in tall - he had dark brown shaven ahir and was wearing a light coloured short-sleeved t-shirt.

 

The seond man is also described as white, 17-18-years-old, but with a slim build - he had short black hair and was wearing jeans and a blue t-shirt.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed anything and are particularly keen to hear from the man who came to the aid of the victi,.
