To mark the Marlowe Theatre's opening they're throwing their doors open for a series of exciting events this weekend (7th,8th,9th October) - and the great news is many of them are free!

Tonight from 5pm there's First Night - an evening including bluegrass band The Coal Porters, street hip-hop by Rannel, all-male dance company Udify Dance and Loop Dance Company - as well as street theatres from local companies.

Friday also sees the first live gig in the theatre's Marlowe Studio - Tom Williams and the Boat, supported by local group, The Gang (tickets £7).

Saturday (11am to 6pm) is My Marlowe Opening Weekend: Music Day. The KD Jazz Orchestra, The Dualers (ska), Goosebumps (rock and roll), and Big Orange Head will be playing outside the theatre throughout the day. There will also be walkabout street theatre (including our own Marlowe Street Theatre group), performances by Marlowe Youth Theatre, and students from University Centre, Folkestone, and a Q and A  session with the theatre team.

Happy theatre-going!

And don't forget to let us know what you think of the new Marlowe here...
