Canterbury based Fusion Martial Arts & Fitness has lots to be proud of in their youngest students.  The Little Dragons program is designed to offer infants (age 4-7) essential life skills and excellent instruction in Sport Karate.  Saturday 20th August was grading day for our Little Dragons to achieve their 1st and 2nd grades in sport Karate.  6 students in total achieved their new grades.  They were assessed in some basic movements and drills.  3 graded to yellow stripe and 3 graded to orange stripe.

Not only have the little dragons been working hard to pass their grades they have also been learning 1 of 13 life skills.  The most recently taught "Stranger Awareness" module gave each student a number of scenarios and preventatives regarding Stranger Danger.  Not only are they taught the signs of a stranger but what to do if grabbed or approached.

Chief instructor Darren Stevens believes Martial Arts is not all about punching and kicking but about a way of life and said: 'At this age it's imperative we teach good life skills, setting the seed early-on in a child's life in a fun and friendly environment has got to be better than finding out when it's too late.  Our life skills program consists of: Fire Safety, First Aid, Health, Stranger Awareness, Respect and many more.  Our training for this age is delivered by a series of drills and skills in learning by play and repetition ethos that is suited to all capabilities.  To find out more please visit  www.kickfit-fusion.co.uk or call 07595 376 904.
