Did you see assault on off duty police officer in Canterbury city centre?

Kent Police have made an appeal for witnesses after two men were charged with assaulting an off duty police officer in Canterbury city centre.

The incident took place last Sunday (8th January 2012) in the High Street, Canterbury.

Gary Love (28) and Phillip Love (25) both of Vauxhall Road, Canterbury, are charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and affray.

The officer was treated at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and then able to go home.

Officers were called to assist their colleague at 3.20pm.
