Another outstanding success

for Fusion Martial Arts & Fitness and their fighting team.  The Canterbury based Kickboxing and Martial Arts

Academy travelled to Watford to participate in the D-Day open Kickboxing competition.

On the day Fusion were coached by Chief Instructor Darren Stevens who said, 'This

100 per cent win rate is a massive achievement For Fusion and I am extremely

proud of the team.  We continuously work

hard on a number of set drills week in week out and on the day you could

clearly see our strengths in our cardiovascular and technical delivery.   However,

at Fusion we are always looking to improve our skills, never to remain at one

level.  The team are back to working hard

in classes this week and looking to prepare for the next tournament.   Fusion

opened 18 months ago, so to have been awarded 6 unanimous decisions from all 3 judges

is an amazing result and shows that the instruction in lessons is top class and

the dedication and work rate of the team excellent.

On the day we had a split of

3 juniors and 3 adults fighting.  In the cadet

section (11-14yrs) we had Samuel Gawler, Matthew Gawler and Alex Bevan, all

first time fighters.   The boys were both

excited and nervous before their rounds but all 3 delivered their techniques

with the skill and confidence I would have expected from more experienced

competitors.  We look forward to seeing their

success in the WKA & ISKA nationals in 2012.

In the adult section we had Jonny

Procter, Joe Bufton and Kane Cosier.  Over

the past 3 months our adults have been pushed to the limits with a commitment to

attend all the Pain and Glory classes hosted on Thursday evenings (not for the

faint hearted).   This hard work and persistence

has paid back, our fighters have shown what their efforts in class can produce

at competitive level and again we look forward to seeing how they do in 2012

nationals.

Personally I would like to

congratulate the fighters on this success.

However let's not get complacent, there is much to improve.  And not to forget a big thank you to the parents

and supporters on the day, without you we would have not made a big impression,

well done team.

are committed to the pursuit of martial arts excellence, where each of our students
